Five Movements in Art

Cubism:splintered shapes, flattened space and geometric blocks of color-quest to find a new concept of painting

Fauvism:explosive colors and impulsive brushwork, advancing the colorist tradition of the Impressionists (short strokes of pure color

Symbolism: A picture that symbolizes something else. Wine can get a person drunk. And the fuzziness and twirl effect make the image appear like you are drunk and looking at the scene. It symbolizes being intoxicated.

Pop Art:  Characterized by bold, simple, everyday imagery, and vibrant block colours, it was interesting to look at and had a modern "hip" feel. The bright colour schemes also enabled this form ofavant-garde art to emphasise certain elements in contemporary culture, and helped to narrow the divide between the commercial arts and the fine arts.

Kinetic Art:Optical illusion, motion highlights, and multidimensional movement.
